Lessons Learned:
1. ALWAYS do a gauge swatch.
2. Just because you're really thin, doesn't mean you should just go for the smaller size.
3. Everyone in BloGLanD is telling the truth, Jaywalkers are really that tight.
I've been sort of busy, and it seems like not as many folks are reading my blog. Maybe if I write really trashy stuff about celebrities, or post pictures of political figures in scandalous positions more people will stop by??? Suggestions? anyone?

ReplyDeletegrrr, I had the exact same issues when I attempted Jaywalkers. I didn't consult BloGLanD first, and I knit and frogged three times before I gave up on getting my huge feet into the beautiful socks. perhaps I'll try again now that I'm older and wiser..

Oh my gosh! I swear I had the same exact Jaywalker frogging post in March 2007! Gosh darn things. I think it's something in the pattern that makes them not stretch or something. And don't change your blog, it rocks just as it is.

ReplyDeleteOn my second pair of Jaywalkers, I knit the leg using a US2 needle, and the foot using US1. They are the best fitting socks I own! Nice and snug in the foot, but I can slide my heel through the leg easily.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog exactly how it is! I've been noticing a drop in my comments, too (um, not that I was exactly inundated with them before), so I blame the weather. I know I've fallen behind in my blog reading, and other people probably have, too.
maybe there should be a disclaimer. the same thing happened to me. everyone was knitting them so I thought, why not give it a try. I ripped them out and then never started the pattern again.
