Boom. Done.

I feel like poop today. I really think that while I was sleeping last night, two monsters came. One rubbed a cheese grater on my throat, while the other one kicked me in the head, a lot. I should have checked under the bed.

I did however sew up the baby kimono and finish a little eyelet ruffle.

I still have what seems like a billion years until Dave's sister has the baby, but I want to make a few things for her. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.

Pattern Particulars

Needles: Clover Takumi Size US 7

Yarn: Sugar and Cream cotton in Country (something?), i threw away the band!

Time: Approx. 4 hours (a lot of this was seaming time b/c it line up as nicely as it could have.)

Loved: The ease of knitting it all in one piece.

Hated: The fact that it was a little short, but i fixed that.

I also finished my first OBS sock. I post pics when I'm completely finished the pair, the toe is a little funky and I want to see if I can re-work it.

There's some Licorice Root Tea (it makes sore throats go away) with my name on it, not to mention a big pile of laundry i might just curl up in instead of folding. bleh.

Feel better-lots of those nasty colds around here lately.

The kimono is uber cute-adorable in fact.

What a darling sweater!! You'll have to post a pix of the baby in it, eventually.

I hope you feel better - I hate the way licorice tea tastes, but it does help!!

Knucks anyone? green, grey, blue...

Great kimono -- is the pattern yours or which did you use?

Wow, that looks amazing! Congrats! Sorry you have the cold buy. Everyone I know has some dread germ right now.

The sweater looks so cute. I tried knitting with the sugar and creme but my hands hurt after a while.

I use the peppermint-ginger tea available at Whole Foods or the health store with some honey for sore throats. Feel better!

i love your baby kimono! i don't knit as fast as you do, but mine turned out pretty easily too (grrr, seaming, bleah bleah ditto!) and SO cute. i made some bibs from the mason-dixon book too, way fast and easy and uber-cute. love the ruffle you added at the bottom!

slippery elm is good for sore throat, too--you can get lozenges and/or tea. plus it tastes good (even if it doesn't sound like it would)

oh and for stuffy nose/chest congestion eat wasabi or horseradish--as much of it as you can stand. (i spread the wasabi on slices of granny smith apples, it goes down better that way) it'll feel like your head is on fire and you eyeballs are bleeding but i swear it works!

you can get wasabi in powdered form at the health food/whole foods type places and it's much stronger that way than buying the pre-prepared kind--you just add enough water to make it into a paste.
