RPMs: An FO

rpms on

I finally finished these lil' buggers. Remember when I first blogged about them in MAY????? After a ton of frogging, and trying to figure out why anyone would do a short-row heel, they're ready to hit the streets.

I made the largest size with a short-row heel and complete spiral pattern, finishing with the pointed toe.

rpms off

Pattern Particulars

Pattern Source: RPM Socks by Aija Goto via Knitty.com

Needles: Addi Turbo US size 1 32" circular (Magic Looped)

Materials: 1 Skein STR lightweight in Lemongrass.

Time: alot, i started them the first time in May and frogged a lot of times.

Loved: the pattern!!!!! mindless repeats=watching subtitles.

Hated: the short row heel, i don't ever want to do one again.

Cornershop - Brimful of Asha

If I can stop fondling this ball of Misti Alpaca Chunky, I may do another installment of Yarn Crawl: A mini-series for tomarrow.

I love those socks!

Do you usually do socks with the magic loop? How do you like that?

Those are awesome! I frogged the socks I started for myself from that colorway... I sort of want to make those, now!

Short row heels aren't *that* bad! Regardless, your socks look fabulous...and I love that you remember back to that one time Cornershop was famous.

Okay, those are totally awesome. Love the colour. Love the shot of the RPMs with the .. well .. RPMS. :-)

Have you tried a Sherman heel? It's a short row heel but doesn't have YOs and stuff. Much easier, and the only one I'll do. :-)

I love the color of the socks. I like that shade of green. BTW, I haven't stopped fondling my misti alpaca. I should so I can make a hot water bottle cozy.

That they turned out so nicely, has to make the short row heel kinda worth it! And they look amazing!!

And just for the record, I don't love short row toes or heels either!!

The socks are quite rad. Please do another installment of yarn crawl. I have done mini yarn crawl in nyc, I may need to do Philly some day if there's every a mysterious yarn shortage around here. And show us the cool yarn you picked up!

Those are pretty sweet lookin' socks with that lovely 80s theme.

I like short row. For some reason, it works with me. I can understand that it's not for everyone. I had to frog it a couple times to really get it right.

OMG!!! I love that picture! It's totally cute. :) Your socks look amazing. Short-row heels are not the most fun. The heel flap and gusset are the way to go!

Awesome socks, colour and photo! I don't like to knit short-row heels either, neither do I like the fit. Flap heels (eye of partridge)are my favourites to knit, the toe-up with a little short rows as in Baudelaire socks from Knitty give the best fit worth the extra effort.
