more teef talk.

Okay, so maybe I was being a little dramatic yesterday. Maybe two panic attacks and a few tears weren't actually necessary. I am thankful to have such a supportive group of readers/friends to give me the strength to confront one of my biggest fears (we'll work on geese another time). Thank you for sharing your own issues, and leaving such encouraging words. It means so much!

That being said:
MY NEW DENTIST'S OFFICE IS THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!

I walked in almost shaking. After my previous awful experiences, I was afraid that I was going to leave with a bleeding tongue while the doctor yelled obscenities in a back room somewhere. I think they could sense my fear.

I sat down in the very tastefully (and hip-ly) decorated waiting room on a overstuffed leather sofa filling out paper work and deciding which fancy tea I was going to have while I was busy freaking out, but the tension just melted away. It was too cozy to be nervous.

The hygienist finally came to get me, I stood up and the anxiety came rushing back.

But before ushering me away into my room, she gave me a full tour of the amazing facilities and introduced to every single person working. We peeked into every room and said hello to both employees and patients before I sat down in the x-ray chair.

Everyone was so happy and friendly; I knew I had chose the right office!

My previous dentist had horrible fluorescent lighting, plastic chairs and a Walmart-like approach to customer service. These folks had went out of their way to instill a sense of community or family, before even sitting me down in a chair.

I have quite a lot of troubles to deal with, including a root canal on Thursday, but I'm not even concerned about going to the dentist anymore.

The people at Hamilton Family Dental have absolutely went out of their to make me feel safe and well cared for.

I could almost cry!

I've never had such outstanding treatment at any type of medical facility before, even my GP could take a lesson or two from these folks.

You've convinced me. I need to find a new dentist. I totally feel you about hearing yelling/obscenities in the background. Aggghhh!

This sounds like a magical place! I go to the dentist like once every 7 years. Hate it! I need to go so bad though. If only I could find a heavenly practice like this. (And some dental insurance-small detail.) I'm glad you had a good experience!

So glad it worked out! If you feel secure and safe, it's amazing how brave you can be. I think that's called having a little help from your friends. :)

Glad to hear you're going to be on the mend soon! I expect you to be all fixed up for the Anthony Carelli reading this Tuesday, 4/10, 12:30 P.M. in Rm. A-117 (Mays Landing campus); free and open to the public! (What?)

Glad it went okay! I was wondering about you yesterday. I'm fighting the urge to cancel my appointment for tomorrow but am not going to let myself do it. Gonna fight the good toofers fight.

That's great! My dentist office is very comforting as well. The dentist displays tons of art he has bought in the waiting room and there is a cat roaming around.

That sounds amazing! Your teeth look great! I love my dentist office, they hang pictures of rock and roll legends on their walls and play top hits from the 80's while I lay there looking at posters of tropical places tacked to the ceilings. It's pretty great.

That other post + this one could make me cry too. Dentists are horrifying and I'm so glad your new one isn't ._. Your old dentist sounds like a demon??? maybe?

Oh man the dentist is my biggest fear too, someday I'll find one of those ones that knocks you out for everything. And omg I can't believe someone else is afraid of geese too! I was bitten by one as a kid. Best way to get over it: eat it for Christmas dinner. That's what happened to the one that bit me. Justice!
