Time-Machine Tuesday: Soul Train.

ST1 SOUL TRAIN COLLAGE

I hope that you all are walking away from these Time Machine Tuesdays both super inspired and with a smile on your face! I love doing the research for them and stumbling upon pop culture gems, like Soul Train.

I remember pretending to be asleep on weekend nights until everyone went to bed, so I could sneak back out to the living room to watch Soul Train and dance like maniac.

Even as a lil' boy, I realized the cathartic power of movement and soul enriching properties of music. Looking back on these videos and pictures, I still feel that same energy; creative and stimulating, flowing through me.

I'm so thankful to have been able to experience Soul Train (even though I was watching it in the 90s) and all of the magic that it had encompassed.

Soul Train was inspiration in one it's most energetic forms!

Those are awesome clips. I'm obsessing over The Sweet's Little Willy (that yellow jumpsuit and sweater vest!) and David Bowie's Queen Bitch (specifically the version on The Old Grey Whistle Test video) - is it the teeth? The hair? I don't know but swoooooon!

We must be on the same wavelength tonight! I posted a blog with some classic soul music on it and then came to look at my dash/subscriptions and saw this! lol :)

Have you seen the Soul Train documentary? So awesome. I one day hope to own the dvds. I mean, you could watch them only, forever, and be happy!

Mannn I GREW UP with Soul Train...it was alllll I watched! I was always looking for that asian lady with the loooong hair. And It was like a contest who could find her first...me and my sis would have to quick tap the tv screen. We played Soul Train when we had sleep overs. Mann who though Don Cornelius would end it all like that..heart breaking. :/

On a lighter note...a good customer turned friend... Cheryl Day owner of Back in the Day Bakery. (Savannah GA)..who has a fabbb cookbook out (which has some of our artwork in it..toot toot) actually was on Soul Train ..often!! Lucky duck!!
