Vinyl Monday: Pavement.

Vinyl Monday

vinyl monday: pavement

Oh hey! It's Vinyl Monday, again! Even though it's my lowest rated feature (I finally got around to checking out some stats), I'm going to stick with it. Music has always been and will continue to play an important part in my creative process, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is inspired by a really great song or album.

I actually thought about giving up on Vinyl Mondays for a split second, and a little nugget of wisdom about staying true to myself found it's way into my subconscious and begged me to go on.

I woke up today and decided it was going to be a great day. I sat around in my pajamas listening to my favorite songs (which include just about anything by PAVEMENT) and eating yogurt with tons of cinnamon in it. I may or may not have danced around with a cat or two. I got a super long bubble bath which included tossing bubbles in the air and making a giant mess of the bathroom. When I got dressed I chose to wear as many colors as possible.

It worked!

I had fun at home.

I had fun at work.

I'm having fun right now as I cook dinner and type this post.

Music plays an essential part in creating and sustaining a certain "mood", thus Vinyl Monday's importance and relevance.

What do you listen to for a "pick-me-up"?

You bet music is important - some days it's the only thing that keeps me going. Old stuff, new stuff, whatever strikes the right cord. Today it was ELO, the Chi-Lites and the Manhattans. Tomorrow...who knows? (And I, for one, like Vinyl Monday!)

there's nothing like feeling like it's gonna be a good day to make it a good day! when i feel great, i can listen to anything and i'll stay happy. when i'm down and i want to improve my mood via music, usually the more ridiculously pop-y the better. ke$ha has been doing the trick recently.

I may not always comment, but I always check in on Vinyl Mondays!

You sound very happy happy in this post. Are you taking vitamin D? No seasonal mood disorder for you!

Do NOT give up Vinyl Mondays! Not to sound perverse but I love thinking of you taking a bubble bath and splashing around to music. I picture it like a montage in an 80's movie! My happy music is usually all kinds of thing but mostly DeVotchKa these days.

I haven't listened to Pavement since college, but it's good to just unwind with. My current pick-me-up is Letter Kills. It changes. Was Person L before.

I do believe my heart may have cracked in two had you foregone Vinyl Monday and I never had to chance to hear about your cat dancing, and bubble bath flicking!!
That really made me smile reading about that!!
Hope your week is great!!
