Time Machine Tuesday: Dreamboat Edition.

MN1 MN collage MN2

O, hai!

It's another one of those posts where I gush about a 60's/70's celeb and how much I want to be their best friend.

Today, I pick Michael Nesmith of the Monkees.  When I was a kid, we didn't have cable. If I had an opportunity to watch TV it was usually a old re-run of some old 60's or 70's show. Sanford and Son, Mary Tyler Moore and the Monkees were just a few of my faves.  All the other kids were watching MTV and Nickelodeon and I was stuck in some cultural time-warp. (I still am).

What I didn't realize then, that I only recently figured out, is that Michael Nesmith was effing adorable! Those sideburns? Swoooooooon. That knitted cap WITH a pom-pom? Sign me up!!!!! He's my personal style icon, I think!

What are some of your favorite vintage TV shows? Any favorite characters?

This rather makes me want to watch their movie "head" again, which I showed once to high school students many moons ago on the day before spring break broke. I have it on DVD if you ever need to borrow.

Good Taste there!!
I always loved both the Monkees and MTM show. I wanted to be Mary Tyler Moore actually- she was so ridiculously awesome!!
I also wanted to be Ginger from Gilligan's Island. Which I guess is better than wanting to be Ginger Spice.

I LOVE The Monkees! They were my fave show, when I was a kid. I watched The Monkees and Alfred Hitchock Presents on Nick at Night all through middle school.

Super cute. lol I just thrifted a record player not too long ago and they threw in (much to my husband's dismay) a crate of records. There was a Monkees record in there! We didn't have cable but all I remember watching was Green Acres and The Beverly Hillbillies. *groan*

Omigod--I loved the Monkees too. I crushed on Davy Jones and my bf crushed on Mickey Doland. We'd drag our radios around blasting "Daydream Believer" and "Hey, hey We're the Monkees." We also liked the He-Man and She-ra cartoons and the Archie comics, ha.
