What I Wore: 01/31/13
SCARF: Irish Hiking Scarf
TOP: Denim Western via Modcloth (SOLD OUT!)
KHAKIS: GAP
BOOTS: Steve Madden (They're really old!)
I was really excited to dress like a human and do one of these today! I may go back to doing them weekly. I always search blogs for outfit ideas, but there only a handful that blog at all, let alone doing WIW posts.
It's funny. I wear this scarf a lot. A LOT. I never put it on Ravelry and the yarn is pretty basic Araucania stuff from AC MOORE, but I really do love it.
I bought these boots about three years ago but didn't actually start to like them until this winter. They're so warm!
I scored this shirt at the Modcloth 70% sale, the khakis are wardrobe staples.
Hopefully, us boys can get the ball rolling. We like to look nice sometimes, too!

StyleFile: Alec Friedman
I love the StyleLikeU site. They don't leave us vintage-loving guys feeling like creepy outsiders
It upsets me that there are so many resources and shops dedicated to stuff for the ladies, while us boys are left to dig through the trenches; bedbugs and all.
I get that there's a much smaller market for guys vintage, but we're around. I promise.
I mean, check out Alec Friedman; editor at large of Dossier Journal.
Don't you think he's busy enough? He doesn't have time to travel to Jersey and troll around thrift shops. Or does he? Is he poppin tags with the rest of us?
Either way, he's gettin' it. All day.

Music Monday: Allen Stone.
Y'know all of those stupid ads on the sidebar of Facebook? I actually clicked one. I had a good reason though. See that picture at the top of the post? Yeah, you would have clicked it too.
I prepared myself to hear some really sad, folky tunes. I grabbed a cup of herbal and thick sweater; necessary accessories for grumpster coma I was about to put myself into.
Turns out, Allen Stone is the most soulful son of a wheat farmer I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. It probably doesn't hurt that he's also the son of a preacher man. We all know what those guys are capable of.
I CANNOT stop listening. I even made an Allen Stone Spotify channel on my phone, so I can get a lil' fix when I need it.
I really need all of you to watch these videos because, I want to help change your life.
Yeah. I know that you loved every second of that.
You're welcome.

Kit Kat Clock c/o FredFlare, Gingham Shirt: American Apparel
Remember when I was taking that Arrow and Apple Lighting E-Course?
I totally forgot about it for ages.
Today, I decided to put some of that knowledge to use and I brushed up on some new things.
Notice the catch light in my eyes and the lack of shadows? yessssss.
I've said it before and I'll tell anyone who listens that Sarah's class is worth it's weight in gold.

STEPDAD
I can pretty much guarantee that I'm the only person on campus listening to Stepdad.
I'm gonna need a whole lot of quirky to make it through the first day of the semester.

"What Do We Have in Our Pockets": A Short Film
I just watched a short film from the Sundance Festival this year and it was the cutest thing I have ever seen.
You have to watch it. I never realized how many possibilities a pocket could hold.
This is what I had in MY pocket today:
-KEYS
-A BIG YELLOW BUTTON
-LEMON LIP BALM
-WISE GUYS SOLID PERFUME
-SCHOOL ID
-DEBIT CARD
-DUNKIN' DONUTS GIFT CARD
-CELL PHONE
-2 LITTLE BUTTONS
Not sure if it's a recipe for true love or not, but donuts could be involved.
What do you think?
Do you love it?
What's in YOUR pocket?

So my cat had a photo shoot today.
I mean, I took the pictures, but still.
She's gonna be famous. Sort of. No. Totally.
This was one of the outtakes.
Total diva.
Tavi taught her how to bitch-face.

Breakfast:
I hate eating in the morning, but I do have a routine.
-Royal King Organic Green Tea
-4 MAXI-HAIR Multi-Vitamins
-2 Fish Oil Supplements
These vitamins are so good. They should charge at least double for them.
I got my first bottle in an Influenster box for free, but they made my skin look so good that I decided I needed to take them forever. My hair and my beard look fuller as well. This isn't a sponsored post, I'm not doing it to get free stuff. I already did. I'm buying them at my own expense because I love them that much.

365/13 + a super easy vintage craft.
I hated the book "Zone One".
So much so, that I made a thing out of it.
I don't have anywhere to hang it, yet.
Inspired by a project in Cathy Callahan's book "Vintage Craft Workshop".
Basically, all that I did was choose a clever way to fold the pages.
It took a few hours, but I did it while watching the movie "Daisies" on the suggestion of Pollyanna Cowgirl, so I was thoroughly entertained.
After all the pages were folded it was as simple as gluing the spine closed around a piece of super bulky yarn.
I really have to pick up a ceiling hook. Right now it's hanging from a thumbtack in my hallway.
Honestly, I didn't want anyone to have to read this book after me.
Did you read it? Did you like it?
